ARTIST AT RESORT | TERM 28
The 28th edition of the T*H residence, coaching, mentoring project Artist At Resort is in progress. The residency artists have been working on their new performance pieces since the end of June. In their process, the artists are mentored by Bert Gstettner (overall direction, mentoring) and his co-mentors Andrea Nagl and imani rameses. The final showcases are going to take place on three evenings on November 5-7, 2026 in the Tanz*Hotel Studios, Zirkusgasse 35, 1020 Vienna.

After each performance, there will be a moderated artist talk, offering the audience the chance to engage directly with the residence artists.

By exploring the suspended space around the act of "diving" - of daring, of changing - performer Christina Zoulianiti invites the audience into Before the Dive: a state of questioning, where transformation begins to be negotiated internally. Here emotional mechanisms and inner processes emerge in relation to this "diving" urge. Can safety and desire coexist, and inner structures be dismantled and rebuilt?

How much does silence cost? is a piece based around the theme of utilitarianism. It surges from the experience of living in a society that endlessly holds us to self-aspirational objectives, and that tells us our achievements simply rely on motivation and willpower. With space for lightness and satirical humour, Dagmar explores how our obsession with utility is driven into senselessness. Can you allow yourself the luxury of wasting your time and watching this performance? Can we learn to see beyond what is visible?

What do footnotes, an egg and tennis balls have in common? This is not a riddle, but an attempt to pin down what is difficult to name.
Scribbled feet on a bench plays (and fails) at defining what escapes articulation through too many words, flirtatious feet and questionalbe serenades. The work is inspired by the wandering logic of footnotes and marginalia that usually remain at the edges of a text.
The performers pass ideas, movements and associations between one another, playing an ever-shifting tennis-like game of (mis)interpretation. Although every derailment could be a cue towards meaning, legibility never quite wins the match.
