Since the founding of Tanz*Hotel, studios have been provided in Vienna for artistic processes such as rehearsals and research within contemporary dance production. T*H artistic director Bert Gstettner, “dance spaces are not merely four walls within which practice takes place, but rather an opportunity to enter into artistic relationships, to create, to let the body swing in order to set it in motion: the space is the instrument that the dancer plays with their body.”
Studio 1
Workspace: 11 m length, 6 m width, 4.5 m height
Wooden floor with stage dance flooring, ballet barre, professional theatre-style sound and lighting equipment, curtains for blackout
Changing area, shower, toilet, kitchenette
Adaptation option: video studio with black box, lighting, 4K cameras, tripods (additional fee upon request)
Studio 2
Workspace: 11 m long, 6 m width, 4.5 m height
Wooden floor, ballet barre, sound system, small lighting setup
continuously adjustable lighting, curtains for blackout
Toilet, kitchenette, dressing room
Costs
Rehearsals: Single hour € 22 | from 10 hours € 20/ hour | from 20 hours € 19/ hour | from 30 hours & regular clients € 18/ hour
Classes (Monday - Friday): 60-minute session € 40 | 90-minute session € 60 | 120-minute session € 72
Other use (film, video, photography, conferences, showings): Single hour € 80
Weekend-Workshops (Friday - Sunday or Saturday - Sunday): € 350 - € 550
